I've started on my petrified wood table for a new display in the new wing of our museum. My husband made the table base and I get to turn it into a rock table for our "rock food."
First I laid out the petrified wood chunks on the floor and then pieced them together like a jigsaw puzzle. It took more time than you'd think because I wanted to keep them natural and didn't want cut them to fit.
Now I have to level them and adhere the wood to the table top. Tried to be lazy and use a hot glue gun, but it didn't work. Will start over tomorrow with a caulk adhesive then it will be on to the grout. I plan to use pebbles. When it's done, I'll share a picture.
